Welcome to West Haven Youth Hockey's Learn to Play Program! Here you will find all the information for Learn to Play. The Second Session for the 2024-25 Season runs from January 5th-February 23rd and the cost is $200. For more information, contact our LTP Director Callan McKeon at callan.mckeon@sbcglobal.net
Ages
The minimum age for Learn to Play is 4 years old, however participants MUST be able to get from one side of the ice to the other without needing assistance. If they can do that, we can teach the rest!

The Second Session runs from January 5th - February 23rd.

Practices
Practice's are based off of USA Hockey's American Development Model. Participants are broken up into small area groups and participate in age and skill appropriate drills and games while having fun doing so!

Equipment Package includes helmet, skates, gloves, elbow pads, shin pads and a stick.
**All players are required to wear a neckguard, they will NOT be allowed on the ice without one.**
(Make sure to bring a copy of your registration confirmation with you to the store)

Extra Costs
All Participants are required to have a USA Hockey Registration Number

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child have to know how to skate before joining Learn to Play?
YES - Skating experience is required. As long as your child can skate from one side of the ice to the other without needing assistance, we can teach the rest!
What hockey equipment is required for Learn to Play?
The minimum equipment that is required is a helmet, skates, gloves, elbow pads, shin pads, neck guard and a stick. We recommend that participants wear hockey pants to better protect them for when they fall.
When I register, am I signing up for BOTH days?
Yes. When registering for LTP, you are registering for BOTH and Sunday's and the select Saturday's.
